What is it with US Republican politicians who come across as a bit addled or dim and who proudly compare themselves with people who are way out of their league? (Dan Quayle as well)
The headline is misleading. She's not comparing herself to Shakespeare. In conservative circles, appeal to authority is pretty normal. Her point is, if Shakespeare did it, it must be OK.
