DHCP allocation of IPv4 issue
1 point by Natureboy on Sept 19, 2017 | hide | past | favorite
Have a perplexing issue that I am not sure if it is an individual case versus a hardware/software issue. Layout: Comcast cable ISP, Motorola Surfboard WiFi router, Static IP from ISP, Device setting to use IPv4 only. Issue: When using either WiFi or Ethernet to connect to router, I seem to get only IPv6 address from the router. That's fine and gets you online, but not all websites support this IP session. Renewing lease option does nothing. Only after some irritating manipulations will the IPv4 address resolve. Wireshark does not elude to any mischievous activity - or so I think. Anyone else hear or have this issue(s)? Any solutions? Need more details or info to solve?

Thanks in advance
