No, I side with the KDE fraction: Everything "just works" by default, but if you want, you can configure everything, and customize everything, and change everything. But if you don’t want to, it still "just works".

And that’s exactly what systemd does. It provides a baseline that just works, but you can always dive in and modify everything.
