You should be very familiar with:
Multiple languages, but an expert in at least one object oriented and one procedural language.
Relational databases, such as Postgres or MySQL.
Caching mechanisms or NoSQL databases, such as Riak or Memcached.
Async Processing.
Ideally, you'll:
Have worked with large, distributed systems and networks extensively.
Have experience with a number of different languages, and understand using the right tools for the given job.
Be comfortable helping lead the direction of our core engineering and architecture.
Help build strong development paradigms and release processes.
Have a great understanding of software design principles.
Not mind working fairly independently, but aren't afraid to ask for assistance.
