Ugh. This very pretty site should be called garbagequalitysmallstory.com instead. It's nothing but a 2 minute video clip where you learn, in order, that there's a man named Chen Zhitong who won 15000 stuffed animals from claw machines last year and won so many toys that they filled up his apartment. Basically just what it says in the submission title, but in 2 minutes and dozens of ad requests instead of 5 seconds. That's literally the entire thing. There's no article, there's no more content. It doesn't say why or how. It doesn't have pointers or hot tips or history. At all.
> He told us how—and why—he's made claw machine mastery his vocation.
Maybe he told them, but they definitely didn't include it in the video.
Sites like this one are why I use an ad blocker. For 2 minutes of entirely content-free drivel, ublock origin stopped 40 requests.
Many years ago while backpacking around Japan, my wife and I started playing the claw machines every time we were waiting for trains or buses. We ended up getting "the knack" and would win things pretty regularly.
One night we went to go camping. While waiting for the bus we realized we didn't have a torch, and there were no shops around.
Luckily at the bus depot there was a claw machine that had a combination clock/torch/radio... and our claw machine skills actually paid off!
