I can render fancy fat ui on my phone these days though, and keep all the buisiness logic in my server service I charge a monthly fee to run. I don't think thick clients are driving notebook sales, except that maybe we put more ram in chrome books than you would expect?
Idk, maybe I a sheltered in Silicon Valley, and I know that most of the buisiness world has a lot of legacy windows apps you need to run your buisiness, and if it ain't broke no one is changing it. But, for new apps, I don't see why you wouldn't do SAS. It will be a slow process for sure but I can't see what will reverse it, except for maybe widespread privacy concerns about the cloud.
