I think a company hackathon or project week can be really cool. Team up with co-workers or just yourself that follows a topic like improve the office somehow or create an idea that can help an opensource project or improve development or another teams process throughout the workday. This can motivate people and at the end you may have something that solves a common day to day pain point for your co-workers.
