But now we're just reaching for absurdities. I live near Tooele, UT (too-il-uh), and my uncle lives in Hurricane, UT (her-i-ken).



I thought Hurricane was just pronounced "her-ken". Also: "creek" in UT is pronounced "crick".


That's not the Wikipedia pronunciation ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane,_Utah ), but it's probably said that way too.
