I banged heads with him a few times on the Mac OS X mailing list. Perl had a very cultish following for a bit and he was adored and celebrated by them so if you crossed him you had to deal with his minions.
On the other hand, a few years later he did stick up for me when I defended my still using CGI.pm on one of the other Perl mailing list and that sure turned the tone of the thread around in a hurry.
I don't recall there ever being any sexist remarks on any of the Perl Mailing list but those incidents mentioned at that link don't surprise me. Randall has a history of doing stupid stuff.
