Hi all
Continuing the salary discussions, I wanted to get feedback from Googlers (outside the company mailing lists) on promotions for new grads.
I just joined as L3 SWE, and love it. But I'm wondering how long it took others to get promoted to L4. It seems like it's all over the place - 12 months to 3 years. What are some of the "right" things to do to get your chances of getting promo'd faster?
Also, could someone please explain how the salary bands work for L3, 4, and 5 and how engs can negotiate to be moved higher in the band?
