Fluidic diodes have been built and used, but the most common design is a "vortex diode".[1] Something similar to Tesla's design has been built and used, though.[2] The main applications are in nuclear reactors, where there's a need for one-way valves that will last many decades without servicing. A no-moving-parts solution is preferred.

That would be an interesting open source hardware project, cataloging what's in the expired patent system and help separate the wheat from the chaff.


I wonder if you injected fuel into a chamber between two of these if you could have a new design for a no-moving-parts pulse-jet.

Also, I'm having trouble imagining what this would look like in 3d.
