Write an encouraging message to those installing solar panels in Uganda.
Brighten a kids day by drawing them a giraffe, as they await an operation in hospital. After the operation, we'll send you an update directly from the kid, and they'll select their favourite giraffe.
Not only does your content directly reach the beneficiary but it also acts as micro-fundraising as users can donate £1/$1 directly to charities via the 'love button'.
We take no cut what so ever, and are entirely funded by private investors. 100% of donations go to charity.
The iTunes page I saw, doesn't convey any of this. All I had to go on was a couple of screenshots to puzzle over.
A well written blogpost with the passion conveyed by your comment here, might attract a wider audience to your cause. A landing page which conveys the purpose and the model might work as a "Show HN" and get feedback...but you'll probably want to read the guidelines.
In summary, it's not obvious what the app does from the iTunes description or the landing page from it. People who haven't been living with the idea, won't see what you are trying to do.
