This is basic force projection math. The US doesn't have an unlimited stock of deployable intermediate missiles, so pulling from one station means shifting capability to another.

The missile math is not the issue, the accounting math is. 1.5 weeks of retaliation missile attacks from a single third-world military and these trillion-dollar bases are out of interceptors?

How much is the taxpayer going to be on the hook for to replenish these supplies? And what's the price tag going to be when a second country starts throwing around missiles the way Israel and the US are doing?
