> It was positioned as a benevolent acquisition for the good of the development community. call me a skeptic, but can (and has) such a model existed in a capitalist system?

It has never existed. Everything a business does is for power and profit, including the times when they pretend they aren't doing things for power and profit.

* I quoted wrong. Sorry, still new here

i like the design you used for the site. CC inspired but still nice and clean.

Thank you. i appreciate your compliment.

Would love this if I could convince my friends to download it.

This is a huge cold-start problem. I want to connect with my friends with no ads, promotions etc. but getting them to download this is a problem

> going around bragging about how many people they're going to push out of employment.

When have they bragged about this?

It’s plausible but gosh, I certainly hope not. That is such a sad world to live in.

Your spoiler is well put and that’s honestly where the conversation should always start.

Curious about what you think these economic corrections should look like.

This is a cool tool overall.

I wish the city names were sticky upon scroll when comparing. I kept scrolling up to remember which city was on the left or right.

Also, the data sources cite mostly US info but I followed the flow and ended up at Munich vs Barcelona. Not sure where that data is coming from and if it's accurate.

This is freaking genius!

This is so freaking cool and part of me wants to try it, but the other part is scared of the privacy implications. Even though I love (and for now, trust) Anthropic, knowing that obviously Claude Opus is the best model (as stated in the docs), I'm just not sure I want to give it access to everything about me? But at the same time, I'm so curious as to what it would come up with.

i have thoroughly enjoyed reading a bazillion one of these

haha good to hear, then the latest update on the roundtable history list seems to work well and the good ones are on top
