I'm glad to see a team with a new-ish approach in the DB world... I like the object-like querying! and the JS embedding.

It really looks to me like SurrealDB could become big in the future, ambitious feature set.

DBs take a lot of time to mature, so I want to congratulate you and wish you the best

Thank you very much weddpros! My brother and I have been building it and building apps on top of it for 7 years now. We launched SurrealDB in public open beta 4 weeks ago. Just the two of us at the moment! We have some really big things planned for SurrealDB.

Thanks so much weddpros! We definitely have some ambitious plans for SurrealDB, and we have lots of exciting stuff to come!

"He said the number of rescues and deaths in the Mont Blanc massif had not risen this year" (last paragraph): it almost reads like the journalist and the mayor lament that those numbers didn't go up, nullifying their whole argument. Or did I miss something?

"engineers" are considered the top of the pile: as long as they're not talking salaries...

I switched to not working for french companies for that very reason. Engineer, loads of experience, low salary compared to the UK or US.

I know you could put a price on the "french social privilege", but I didn't benefit from it the least bit (no kids, working) so I was better off without it.

Incest is the massive child abuse elephant in the room, and listening to our communications won't help those millions of children who suffer. Almost 7 million in France (1).

I'm disgusted. I'm pretty sure when they say "one child in 5,6 or 7", it's really incest in 90-99% of cases, not some internet pedophile they claim to catch.

They won't protect children with that law, because it's not the right law to fight child abuse.

Basically 1 person out of ten? That's frightening. Statista says it's an estimation but all information about source and methodology is behind a paywall.

Hey! I'm 50 actually :-) I'll keep doing the stuff nonetheless! Cheers

Hi Ivan,

I know you appreciate the issue to its fullest like no one else! Cheers

Thank you man! I'm Chris, the creator of SSLPing, and this goes straight to my heart

thank you man, straight to my heart it goes (SSLPing creator here)

You have my utmost respect. I hope you get to spend the time on other things that bring you joy.

it did test supported cyphers and SSL versions, common vulnerabilities, etc... (SSLPing creator here)

SSLping creator here...

Actually node.js is using openssl under the hood... SSLPing implemented a partial SSL implementation to quickly test support for SSL versions and cyphers, but used node.js native libs too. Newer node.js versions weren't able to get an SSL certificate out of a SSL v3 only server, for instance. Which didn't allow to test for expiration, etc...

But yes, there were multiple issues indeed
