I don't see why the West should allow government corporations from China to operate within their borders. It's not like there's reciprocal agreements in place that allow the inverse.

This is the result of civil disobedience. He wanted to raise awareness of Google's dealings with the Israeli defence force, this is probably the best thing that could have happened, because all eyes are on the cause now.
He's either genuinely passionate and has taken what he sees as a moral stand for a company he probably didn't want to work for, or his protest is purely performative and he's fucked up pretty badly. My money is on the second option, but without being able to read his thoughts we'll never know
By blue hair and pronouns crowd, they're referring to the "gay as an aesthetic" types. You don't need to be gay to be queer anymore, it's simply a performative fashion trend to be sold to teenagers at the mall. That's the entire point of the essay.
I think we're going to start coming out of the social media fugue. I know more and more people who have stopped using broadcast and algorithmic feeds, and I feel like it's a genuinely positive change where we can disagree but still be friends again. I'm optimistic that division politics is going to start losing elections and tanking cultural endeavors more consistently, and we'll get back to actually talking to our neighbors and seeing some fresh ideas in media.
