Drone are noisy and invasive. I know I’d be upset if the neighbor boy was flying his camera drone around my property. Amazon doesn’t get a pass just because they’re a corporation. There is all kinds of passive data gathering that a these could be doing

if your fellow countrymen decide that in exchange for the benefits they will accept the noise and passive data gathering, and establish some ceiling restrictions, I don't really care what ill tempered reason is motivating you to start shooting at things

And when they’re actually good at their job, they’re invaluable in my opinion

Yeah, the best way to learn the value of project management is to work somewhere without it.

I don’t know how this can be true when almost everyone I know is struggling right now

Two tier economy

Which image?

It’s so hard to believe people posting in support of ICE aren’t trolls or bots. Are you watching them commit obscene crimes in broad daylight?

Is it really that hard - Trump didn’t get to power on a technicality - 70 million voted for him.

Makes you wonder how much money and compute is being thrown into this garbage fire. It’s simply wasteful. I hate seeing it

I look at this as the equivalent of writing a MUD as you ladder up to greater capabilities. MUDs are a good educational task.

Similarly AIs are just putzing around right now. As they become more capable they can be thrown at bigger and bigger problems.

Sounds a little too familiar

Also adding random electrical infrastructure and random signs, also removing a statue in the distance in one of the images

Sure, that stuff too. The point still being that it's a pretty predictable set of changes being made to whatever photo you give it.

I'm pretty sure it's either gpt-image-1.5 or Nano Banana Pro in the background, with a prompt like "make it look worn down and slightly decaying".

Obviously those kinds of stories are common, but you can’t seriously be suggesting that it is a good or acceptable thing?

Execs are just as stupid as your average person and bypassing security controls for them puts an organization at an even greater risk due to the kinds of information they have access to. They just get away with it because they’re in charge.

Yes.

Is Azure running its hypervisors on Linux these days? I read awhile back that they were switching from Windows

No. It’s still very much Hyper-V running a custom build of what you can call windows underneath.

> Another thing you may have noticed is that the taskmgr or even regedit does not look the same as you would see on Windows 11. This is because as I mentioned, Cloud Host is built on OneCore and it is headless (or console based), hence, it doesn’t contain any of the GUI pieces of Windows. We have a special taskmgr and regedit version that doesn’t link with all the modern GUI functionality available in Windows 11, which gives them the “old style” look.

I haven't used Windows in a long time, so it looked normal to me. I just went and watched a video on Windows 11, goodness me.

It is still Azure Host OS, officially.

There was a project to add Hyper-V like capabilities to Azure Linux fork, but they went silent after the announcement.
