Funnily enough, I'm trying to do this, and just posted in "What are you Working On?" Not sure I'll have much luck if Apple couldn't make it happen though! https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46268285

Looks interesting, how do you get it to sync what I'm listening to with it? I use Pandora & YT Music as my only music services.

Thanks! Good shout, will definitely add support for YouTube. Pandora, however, is sadly blocked in the UK.

Raygum, a way to track and share your favourite music _outside_ of the big streamers: https://raygum.com

thanks for pointing this out, exactly what I was looking for.

I made a little online version if anyone's interested - https://sodaphonic.com/instruments/mellotron

Super cool, love it!

I used this to make an in-browser audio converter. Performance is pretty good, but limited to a single thread compared to the cli version.

Surely the implementation could get around this using Workers?

Sounds like he got to do most of those things in Thimbleweed Park - https://thimbleweedpark.com/

Thanks! Yes, definitely. On the list.

Thanks for letting me know. Will look into it!

If you're using Chrome or Firefox, you can try it out by just recording something. Might not be clear enough, so thanks for the feedback!

I'm not sure I understand, what copyright issues can you envision?

The MP3 codec is patented in the US, due to expire at the end of next year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3#Licensing.2C_ownership_and...

Uploading a copyrighted work, then editing it, and saving it into a new file is a clear case of making a derivative version of a protected work. There's no issue if it's Creative Commons allowed or Public Domain, that's just fine and I don't intend to say otherwise. It's when it comes to the nature of the source and the editing and saving that is, to me, just troublesome from a legal / academic standpoint.
