As someone who gets little to no benefit from human therapy this genre of "please talk to a therapist- it cures what ails ya!" internet post always leaves me with unanswered questions about where the poster is coming from.
With ray tracing Nvidia made a new technology that breaks everyone's PC performance then they sold the solution to that broken performance as a card upgrade with better ray tracing hardware. Even though the Ray tracing doesn't necessarily look any better, just different, we now have to upgrade cards to solve the broken PC performance Nvidia caused themselves...
I think what parent is complaining about is the "Art Direction" rather than the technology itself, and I think I agree. Some of the feeling and mood been lost in the translation, sadly. I'm sure if they had some better art direction (maybe they didn't have a person from Valve to help with this?), it could have been a lot better in that regard, even with ray tracing and the rest.
People can't predict in advance who will win a U.S. Preidential election with any accuracy but you are presuming people like Bezos are working from a long term master plan? He's probably improvising like everyone else.
Ironically the 2022 Samsung soundbar model I have hasn't gotten a single firmware update since January 2023. I bought it new from Samsung after that day.
I am moderately surprised that they even update their firmware on some models.
I use Claude Sonnet to translate Korean web novels to English. It works fine.
The fact of the matter is there's going to be some nuance lost in even a good human translation. For example as far as I can tell in Korean martial arts novels a word is used which can mean either "demonic" or "unorthodox" to describe a group in opposition to the "orthodox" martial artists and a human translator has to basically pick one and go with it removing whatever nuance is in the original.
I'd prefer an official translation of course but the AI one is "good enough" if none is available.
Formal vs informal speech is another thing that doesn't seem to translate- but I don't think you need to understand every nuance to enjoy what is in many cases a straightforward genre story.
Manga is much trickier since the AI if reading the page may not be able to pull from the context of other pages the way it could in a novel.
It's more clear when you try via AI studio where that have censorship level toggles.
