>> who isn't as politically inflamed as you are

Saying that it’s okay for bonafide anti-intellectuals to meet the fate they’ve crafted for themselves despite all evidence is no sign of political inflammation. Be serious.

Tying it to swinging election results is political inflamation. That's so obvious that I think it's you who are not serious.

But that's what it looks and feels like. Partisan neener neener.

We don't withhold mercy because someone doesn't believe in receiving help, or because they play for the opposite "team". We do our best to help anyway.

A doctor doesn't withhold treatment because a patient believes God is responsible for healing them. We don't stop trying to eradicate Polio because people distrust vaccines. It can be a thankless uphill battle, but that's the human condition, and it's important to retain human empathy.

We shouldn't gloat when someone dies from Covid, just like we shouldn't gloat when someone dies from HIV AIDS. We're all in the human experience together, sharing this infinitesimal overlapping moment within the lightcone. It'll be easier to push together instead of treating everything as a tug of war. Sometimes that means being nice to people you disagree with.

For those not actively following the situation, we’re well past the point where they offer and insist that you take the route of euthanasia before prescribing pain medicine in chronic painful conditions.

Does not bode well for a generation of people hunched over their desks leading sedentary lifestyles.

>> can't help but suspect that a nontrivial percentage of the developing world is living below their full capacity due to related disease burdens, e.g. from this or other neglected tropical diseases.

WHO literally estimated 1 billion living people were infected with hookworm at some point throughout childhood. Once that happens in areas with poor food security to begin with your brain is likely fucked for life from stunted development due to childhood malnutrition.

Diminished capacity due to disease burden is definitely high.

>> They set these off in public spaces and private residences. There are already reports that Israel murdered a 10 year old girl with this attack. Absolutely horrible.

People tend to do whatever they want when they’re raised since birth to believe everybody that is not one of their in-group is a quite literal subhuman not chosen by god

>> Found out much later it’s ME/CFS from hEDS (TNXB)

What led to you finding out about TNXB?

>> for some reason my body on the left side is clenching up, with this constant pulling on my head, pulling down and to the left. I also have severe TMJ, again on the left, and constant headache

@computerdork do you have a tongue tie/lingual frenulum or narrow airways/diaphragmatic dysfunction? These things can cause extreme issues with the fascia that lead to things presenting in such a manner.

If you’ve made it to teens/adulthood, it’s typically missed by fucking everybody in the medical profession.

I had some issues from turning my neck to look at at a side monitor for extended periods. You're supposed to turn your whole body to avoid strain, but it's easy to forget.

Neck strain and tmj can be related as well from the overuse of muscles.

hmm, I've always had issues with my tongue, it does not extend very far out of my mouth and my tongue is always clenched and pulling down and left as well. But it's hard to tell if this is because of tongue-tie or because if my throat muscles are tight.

I'll look more into both these, Thanks!

Terrible day for rain.

I like to think some day his daughter will appreciate getting to go through his HN comments & such.

One of the main voice actors for this show is so poor in their mid-age they’re forced (their words) to deliver for Amazon.

Does not sound like a fortunate situation to find oneself in.

Yeah there is a large group of people becoming radicalized every day on twitter as they realize Andy Merrill (Brak) drives an Amazon truck.

I think more are also trying to understand why Andy isn’t credited as a co-creator when every account of the creation of it says he is.

I am extremely sorry you’re dealing with this.

I know you’re not after any advice and I don’t want to get your hopes up in any way. But I do hear about brain damage due to hyponatremia & subsequent improper sodium infusions somewhat frequently as I’m part of a diabetes insipidus medical group & this is a potential reality everybody taking Desmopressin faces.

I have seen a decent amount of anecdotal reporting of people stabilizing/recovering their cognition to some meaningful degree after a few years from the injury.

Thank you. At the moment I'm clutching at any straw I can find. I'll take some solace that it might turn out better, and I'll watch for it, but I'm not in any position to pin hopes as yet - that way would lie disaster, I think.

I hope the suffering patients these kind of tech wearables earnestly improve the lives of don’t get impacted too much. Blood Ox probably isn’t the biggest deal, but accurate vitals wearables are extremely valuable in managing & making doctors unable to deny the reality of quite a few conditions they may otherwise be inclined to say you’re exaggerating.

I was personally waiting for some of Withings (Nokia folk IIRC) offerings to get approved by the FDA for quite some time… last I checked they never did and I mostly use apple now.
