Total Commander was the original inspiration for thefile.ninja, but over time the context has moved more and more. The program should be easy to handle if you have used total commander., same keys, etc. However, the program has a much more modern interface and it is above all much faster in searches. It is so fast in searches that you can use searches as your own folders in the program.

I'm actually working on a sideproject right now that can work as a Windows Explorer replacement with Everything as an indexer in the background. Among other things, this provides advantages such as that you can create virtual folders in the operating system that are based on everything queries. The latest thing I'm working on right now is being able to use plain text for searches by having an LLM AI translate plain text into everything queries. I am building a advanced file manager for Windows as a side project. Its a file manager in the style of Orthodox File Managers (Total commander, Directory Opus etc) The file manager is natively powered by the Everything indexer by Voidtools and as a result of that it is possible to create virtual folders of querys (smart folders) and instant folder sizes. I have also added support for tags and custom description of file items.
