Fairly, it's the homepage of an open-source (AGPL) software.

However, there is correctly no 'Show HN' label, as the subject is about the way the webpage is created, not about the software itself. You can create beautiful things or create things beautifully.

Yeah, I'm thinking of creating a WAP version. (-;

Diving into history, creating a mobile version was impossible in the earliest versions of CSS. Viewport units were amended only in 2012 with the introduction of CSS3. Prior to that, the only way to create a mobile version was to check the UA and, if it was a mobile device, redirect to a specific HTML page that was adapted for mobile devices. Probably, we will do this in the same way.

We used to do it with tables and percentage widths too, if I remember correctly. (I might not. HTML is old and I'm even older...)

Why? Gopher works fine!

I see you are more advanced in technology. Any idea how to make the <BGSOUND> tag work?

It's really easy, just make a Next.js site that uses jQuery to iframe a WASM VM running Docker to embed https://oldweb.today and use that to run Netscape Navigator and then screen capture it and send it to a LLM for it to generate an appropriate background track and have it email the user with a magnet link where they can torrent the mp3 to play next to the page. What could be simpler?

This should be done in DOSBox, correct?

No, I suggest emulating it in the UEFI directly. DOSBox is too high level for something like this and adds unnecessary overhead.

I got reply: 0x04.

Thank you, Peter. Appreciated.

For me, a handmade web is a kind of seal, showing that the person is able to work with older techniques and therefore has most likely been in the industry for a long time.

And it's always amusing. If we take a look at the source code of the first page of Paul Graham's website (which was fairly created in a similar manner), we will find interesting comments and artifacts.

In the EU (e.g. France), invoices are strictly regulated, covering information format, storage, and numeration. Mandatory tax authority reporting is forthcoming. Given the EU's highly regulated invoicing software market, clarify your target country on your website.

Overall, without conforming to the relevant legal framework, there is a risk of exposing both your operations and your clients, who may trust your invoicing software, to potential issues and non-compliance.

There's also now a requirement for machine readable invoices coming (XRechnung/ZUGFeRD/X-Fractur)

Luckily, there are AI-converters for that: https://www.invoice-converter.com/en

Thanks. I will implement this converter as well. Forgive me as the product JUST launched.

Im trying my best to make sure everything is as it should be. Im currently talking to all users who bought it, researching country specifics and getting help from smart people like you. This is why im asking for feedback here. The amount of smart people is amazing.

It's advisable to align the product with legal obligations prior to engaging in financial relations with clients. Also, '#1 Invoice Generator App' on the first screen seems to be slightly misleading.

A collection of hand-coded websites built without extensive frameworks or templates, which are becoming increasingly rare nowadays.

Happy 20¼!

Professional spammers most probably have a collection of aged accounts for the platforms they work on.

However, there are a number of other techniques based on behavioral analytics or IP/email reputation that could detect and block spammers. The age of the account is just another metric we use in the rule engine, but it should be used independently to avoid spoiling the experience of readers who have converted into new writers.

Not advertising, but our team has just open-sourced a user analytics platform that could help exactly with this.

Thank you for your question. The API is proprietary and is offered as a paid subscription service. You can find more details in the README file. https://github.com/TirrenoTechnologies/tirreno?tab=readme-ov...

We have a cloud version of Tirreno in private beta now. Also, It can be run on Heroku easily.

Let me know if you are interested in supporting more users. Currently trying to find something for someone on a low-budget (in a non-profit) managing sensitive health data...

Our team is constantly looking to use Tirreno technologies for good. Drop us a message at team[~]tirreno.com and we can see how we can help.

just sent a pretty wild message across the waves. No real information about our clients in there but a lot about me + my biz partner since we're the ones w/ our heads out.

The main client we're supporting is a former telecom executive who I suspect has just been talking to a bunch of bots for the last 6mo+ across mediums so i'm trying to safeguard her against any more unknowns since she's old and I can't do much to help.

i'm currently drowning trying to support another client (a black church) that comes closer to direct health services that has had even stranger problems over the last 2 years imo.

Ok cool. I have been looking at plausible and others. People may not want to host their own web analytics platform per say as there are is maintenance overhead.

There is nothing similar between Plausible and Tirreno. Tirreno is more about rule engines, risk scoring, and fraud prevention. From this perspective, sharing user data or even business context with cloud is not the best option.

Understood. Thanks!

Only today, I told my colleague that the first BBS connection was one of the most extraordinary experiences I've had in my life. Of course, it wasn't possible without QModem software.

Thank you so much to your father for the happiest moments of my childhood!
