I used to work on Capitol Hill as an intern and we had to do this thing called Press Clips, where we copy and past relevant news to a word doc everyday. It's kinda dumb so I just wrote some python to do it for me back then.
I got rejected by my summer internship and had nothing to do over the summer, so I just decided to code a program to automate what I did on the Hill.
This basically scrapes all the news for each House Rep from google news and log it into the google firestore. There are bunch of bugs still, so I am trying to fix them one by one. But feel free to play around with it and try to break it. (Most likely you can)
Random notes: I am not a cs major so I sort of messed up my database at first and keep getting 200k reads a day. I ended up figuring it out with ChatGPT and hopefully I won't get a massive bill by firebase.
