I know others who are in exactly the same situation (DEFCON connections). Astonished to see that it is that common.


Robert Graham (eratasec) told a story that they threatened to falsely taint his security clearance if he didn't cancel a DEFCON talk.


And they got their way if my memory doesn't fail me. DEFCON talk was cancelled.


What was the topic of the talk?


I couldn't find out. This is as close as I came.

If you don't comply they then threat to start trade warz and sanctions, simple deal IMHO


Then host it in a sanctioned state like Cuba or Crimea.


IMHO the biggest problem here is the US government is policing the world with DMCA: you have to comply even you are not with physical US jurisdiction. Like the world's biggest cyber-troll, just dressed in business suits.
