No, it's not. Life has been much better overall. What things are you seeing that is getting worse? I would say things are getting exposed and change is taking place. And you are just being introduced to the harsh reality that exists outside your initial bubble.
Is the world really getting worse or is the amount of negative information we digest daily affecting our perception of how good or bad things actually are?
Except it's not. Books like Factfulness show it quite clearly. We have our fair share of problems but quality of life has been steadily improving almost everywhere and almost exponentially in some areas.
I'm not entirely sure the world is getting worse, but I am certain that it's becoming more complex.
And when the finite cognitive capacity of every human being must manage that complexity just to survive (let along propser), it sure feels like it's getting worse.
- Global Warming
- Loss of topsoil

Good! Americas obsession with cars is one of its most glaring deficiencies. Every city should be accessible without a car, however unless you are in NYC, Chicago, or LA, or San Fran, well then that just isn't true.|
I have taken several trips to Los Angeles without using a car. It's not convenient, but it works if you allow enough time - the bus lines do at least exist.
Thank god Obama set us on the right track. The current administration is doing everything to hamper this great progress in terms of converting to renewable energies.
Lets get some real leadership back in the White House in 2020!
Isn't this supposed to be a HACKERS NEWS blog? What in the hell does some article about pistol sights have to do with this?
I literally only made an account to post about how absurd and out of place this article is. If I wanted some second amendment lovers blog (and I don't), I'd simply find one.
It's not news about hackers, it's news for hackers (in the older usage of the word). And clearly lots of us find it interesting. You've got an account now, so you can click "hide", flag it if you feel it's inappropriate, and move on. If enough people agree, the flagging system should take it down.
These words have meaning, and your idea of a 'blog' is even worse than those people that don't know the difference between a blog post and a blog (a collection of posts).
Crazy times.
