I've made a game out of my Discover Weekly and Release Radar playlists, seeing how good I am at detecting the AI stuff. "Bad music" comes from both machines, and humans.
Ontario’s euthanasia regulators have tracked 428 cases of possible criminal violations — and not referred a single case to law enforcement, say leaked documents.

As a parent of a daughter who loves baseball more than anything else, we are letting her passion guide her, even though it is a remote possibility she will become the professional baseball player she wants to be. The opportunities that are opening up for her, and the life skills and lessons she is learning wouldn't have the same impact if we were trying to steer her in a direction that wasn't of her choosing. The lesson she has learned early, and one I wish I had learned earlier, is if the worst thing that can happen is someone will say "no" then there is no reason not to try.
This is what my parents did. They always said they’d be happy if I decided to become a poet if I wanted as long as I committed myself to it and didn’t just use it as an excuse to lay about all day. I always thought it worked out well.
Baseball is also a beautiful sport that combines the fun of playing a game with cutting edge tech and analytics. It can teach a curious child that keeps asking “why?” a lot while still being fun (unless you’re a Mets fan), and it’s a sport that you can keep playing basically your whole life in rec leagues at all sorts of skill levels. Even if she doesn’t end up with a career in the sport, there’s a lot her passion for the game can teach her.
You and I may have crossed paths a few times (grew up around there in the mid 80s-90s)--Salt Creek beach was our go-to. I had no idea what Clark Foam did until I was much older (I wasn't that into surfing), but the 'Clark Foam' name on the brick wall on the corner is one of those indelible childhood memories.
Likewise. Spent my whole childhood in the Laguna Niguel area, didn’t know what Clark Foam was back then but always passed it on Crown Valley. Sad to see that it’s become just another bland condo complex but that is the way of South Orange County.
If the title of the article was instead, "Tesla video promoting self-driving was scripted, engineer testifies," this article is probably mostly ignored. Take a loaded term like "scripted," which some interpret as "faked," and here we are. Of course the video was staged, the engineers were asked to make a video showing it's capabilities. The only part worth arguing over is if someone could interpret Elon's tweet as meaning I could jump in a Tesla and have it do all of those things without me needing to do anything.
> The only part worth arguing over is if someone could interpret Elon's tweet as meaning I could jump in a Tesla and have it do all of those things without me needing to do anything.
Or Tesla's video that says "the driver is only in the seat for legal reasons - the car is driving itself"?
When I explain to people what I love about baseball, it’s that I know what is supposed to happen. It’s when what isn’t supposed to happen happens that makes it exciting. It’s the same with these questions. We know the question but it’s the response s, in particular from younger players (like collegiate athletes), that make the questions still worth asking
and journalistically relevant, even if sometimes they come off as rehearsed.
‘Martino Unstrung’ is a documentary about him and talks a lot about what he was like leading up to and after the aneurysm was discovered. A great look into one of the giants of jazz guitar but also fascinating to learn the things he could remember and what he couldn’t, personality changes, etc.
My wife and I took birthing classes, read a few books, etc. but nothing prepared me for the moment my first child was delivered. It was an almost indescribable experience where everything just…changed.
Patience. Remember you are both on the parenting journey together, but mothers and fathers will do things differently.
Take care of your partner. Postpartum depression is a very real concern and is difficult with new mothers already wondering if they are “doing it right.” She especially will get no shortage of advice. You and she know what’s best for your baby. And if you have a question, don’t hesitate to call your pediatrician or even the maternity ward.
As someone else said, make time for you and your partner. If you have family nearby, take advantage of that support system however you can. We moved away from all of our family and friends when we had two very young children, so if you are in a similar situation my first note about patience is even more important.
Finally, the cliché that kids grow up too fast is very true so enjoy the journey, embrace the mistakes. You only get to hold them for so long.
