"Why work when the pay sucks? You waste your day just to still not be able to afford a home or health insurance. You see average girls making bank on OnlyFans and Tinder while society wants you to slave away. You see kids day trade the market bubble and make money. Work is not the way to gain respect any more. It will not get you ahead."

"Why would you work if you could retire, when all these bullshit made-up requirements were foisted on you? Especially if your boss is a 40 year old Karen who thinks she knows everything? Screw that. Time to check out."

"A friend decided he had enough of it and retired. Not interested in wearing masks and working for a system that he deems criminal. Predicting that shit will hit the fan soon, he started some community farming. I think he is symptomatic of the problem.
There is also an increasing number of people doing useless stuff that only works because the government greases the wheels with freshly printed money. Bureaucrats everywhere.
Lots of young mothers stopped working because the schools basically shut down.
Young people who can't be bothered to leave home anymore and try to become YouTube-famous."

"My wife just got hired at 61 in her old business she hasnt worked at in 15 years. They were desperate. But now they are already complaining she is too slow, doesn't get technology, which is all bullshit. I'm hoping there is a $10m age discrimination lawsuit in there."

"Atlas Shrugged had the same storyline, and we seem to be following it. In communism, the capable workers quit and incompetence reigns. Shortages increase with government control everywhere."

"From 20 years in IT I am now a happy farmer with lots of neighbors turned friends. I can't even fathom the number of hours wasted in front of a monitor, while life was running away.
We all need to go back to a comfortable but hard work natural life, full of intentionally made good human interactions. It's the only one that liberates, self-sustains, and fills the heart with joy and peace of mind."
"A former coworker of mine saved up $300k by being frugal over the years, and decided it was enough to retire on. He moved to a trailer on his own land in the mountains of Virginia, and now works a day or two a week for cash, when he feels like it. Good man.
So where have all the workers gone? No longer working for slave wages or sacrificing their time and life-force for corporate."
That's the narrative being pushed by the lying news media, but out here in the real world, there are NO jobs. Most job listings are fake, and people sometimes go to 5-6 interviews only to be told they didn't get the (fake) job. That's after putting in dozens or hundreds of applications and getting no response. The only jobs that seem to be available are $15/hr bullshit which is essentially minimum wage, with inflation having destroyed the dollar; literally 50% of all U.S. dollars in existence were printed over the past 22 months. There are help wanted signs everywhere and burger flipping jobs paying signing bonuses, and they still can't find employees, because people are sick of the mask/vaccine bullshit and would much rather stay at home and sling weed and/or gamble in the stock market.
