I think you can use https://traces.com for that

Hi HN! I'm building a discovery platform for open source ecosystems at https://ecosystems.gitwallet.co.

Right now this is a way to get a better understanding of open source ecosystems, see what's popular, up and coming, and browse related projects. There is a LOT of work to be done but I thought I'd share the work in progress here.

What kinds of other features do you think you'd like to see in a discovery platform around open source? What is highly fragmented or hard to find?

Vercel did a great job on onboarding for more junior developers, and its a great place to start a project.

- Near instant Git deploys with links for each deployment

- Really easy to setup templates with "Deploy with Vercel" deeplinks

- Easy to setup web framework that works seamlessly with the platform

- All the add you need as your app grows (and yes, some you probably don't)

Once you're on its a pain to switch so its easy to stay on, so that's why so many people just continue.

If you liked Rails convention over configuration, you will likely appreciate Vercel. The only issue IMO is the full stack JS/TS approach. The JS ecosystem can be, let's just say, tough to navigate sometimes :)

What kind of consultancy are you building?

One easy route is to write blog posts! People who share their knowledge and then provide a CTA for their consulting services often stand out.

If you’re focused on a specific stack then doing research on the dependents of open source projects can also be a great way to find leads. The most successful have a distinguished product or service if you’re doing outreach (eg performance, security, database optimization etc).

Full disclosure I’m building Gitwallet.co which is a platform for open source software consulting businesses.

That's awesome!

We don't have much of a focus at the moment, but we're looking to build towards something. I really appreciate the pointer though, and I can't wait to check out your project!

Hi HN! I just built a little GPT4 powered app called Detour - an app to play horror/suspense "chat stories". In a traditional chat story, you just tap through and read messages - but in Detour, we allow you to change a message, and an AI generates a whole new ending for a story.

You can also "continue" a story once you've reached the end, so in a sense this is a never ending story ;)

You can also see other people's endings created in the app (just tap on a message).

I think its really interesting to see LLM's play a role in the creative process. We believe a chat story is a good use case for this because it's essentially a script, which serves as the starting point for any movie or TV production. As AI generation tools get better every day, we think this can go in a lot of cool directions.

There's lots of work to do still but it's halloween so I thought I'd just share it.

Looking forward to any feedback on the app - including for story ideas if horror/suspense is your thing.

I'm developing a tool to help people keep their attention especially when reading longer pages. I've tried all the note taking and Read-it-later tools, but haven't really found one that works to keep my attention in a fun way, so I'm building one myself. The tool uses the power of transcription and elements of game theory.

I'm looking for a group of 10-20 early users - if you're interested, I'd love to hear from you.
