Sorry, what? You hung up on an interviewer because they asked you to write an algorithm? And you think it's a red flag to ask you to turn on video? I think you need a reality check, honestly. I would say they are lucky not to hire you based on this.
Based on the comments here it looks like people are really attached to dashboards. I don't think dashboards are completely going away, but people are not using dashboards properly. There are too many dashboards in every org that no one uses. And definitely, we need something more interactive, that acts based on the end-goals that we need instead of drowning in charts.
Exactly right. The malls in Asia fit the lifestyle very well, being well integrated into the daily commute and easily accessible to so many within the community. These malls are some of the nicest places you can go and offer tons of restaurants options, boutiques etc that make each one feel unique. It's incredible how much better it is than what we have in the states IMO.
When working in Shanghai I had to go to an office in an outlying district, where the subway station was below a mall, and the way in and out of the subway was through a MacDonalds, walking past the queues waiting to order. The first time I went I was sure that couldn't be right, but it was.
I agree. It isn't useful to think of "low code" or not. You think of what the tool offers and if it can be extended easily to do what you want. If you choose it and it isn't as advertised or doesn't fit, it was the wrong choice. We rely on all sorts of "low code" stuff and it works great because it's battle proven and provides the right abstractions. "Low code" is a misnomer, just say "esoteric specialized tool that isn't customizable".
I talk to these people all the time. Them: "I KMOW stock XXX is going to be at price YYY in time Z." Me: "How much have you invested in stock XXX?" Them: "Oh nothing yet".
There's tons of folks on hn betting their shorts on bitcoin and way more exotic things, just that hopefully we can all afford to lose our, uh "investments" ;)
