Could be a non problem depending on the atmosphere

That's the thing, this rock wont have athmosphere, so close to the host star, it would have been blown away

That's why I mentioned the hypothesized mercury situation, as mercury has got a very thin mantle and its core is VERY outsided, so it has got a very strong magnetic field. This is consequence of likely early solar system crash, Mercury might just be the core remnants of a planetary collision elsewhere

But yeah, this rock wont have athmosphere

You passed the bar!

    How Wildcards Thrive:
    * things every single software developer likes
    How Wildcards Suffer:
    * things every single software developer hates
    What Wildcards Need:
    * things every single software developer needs
What a snake.

Don't think so. For example some devs I know just love following an elaborate development process with as many quality gates as possible. Some like to glue as many complex frameworks together into a solution as possible. Some just love to do the same things the same way again and again. Wildcards don't.

That isn't true, most developers prefers not to be pressured while some people just can't motivate themselves without the thrill.

replace <every single software developer> with <every single natural-born software developer>

I doubt it. It's < 0.003% of indian gdp.

They probably don't even get the tax revenue from that. But no doubt local politicians and police are complicit, as with most other crimes

Just install trucaller on their phone.

Your intention might very well be good but this is very bad advice, please do not install Truecaller! This app is a privacy nightmare. From accessing your phonebook/contact info to location, it has been known to be responsible for leaking information of journalists and for storing user data without consent.

> While TrueCaller may have laudable intentions, the privacy implications for people who end up in their database raise concerns. When a number is tagged, the person who is tagged ends up having their name and phone number stored on the TrueCaller database, despite not having consented – or even being aware – that their data was collected.

Some of the features require excessive permissions.

My experience with Trucaller is that it does just about nothing. I suspect that by the time a number has been marked as spam, the offender has already switched to a new number. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that scammers were monitoring Trucaller and it’s ilk to determine when to change numbers.

Our computers should have a specific port for a physical key which we would carry around in our keychain.

And what do you do when your key is broken or lost? Because that will happen.

Backups! Copy of key at friends house.

If it is copiable, how would you know if it had been compromised?

My understanding is that backup keys should not be identical for that reason. Let's you revoke and audit use.

As such, having a backup has to be accessible so that you can register it places. There are tricks, but they only work in certain scenarios. Mostly not in the fido use cases.

So that the friend, or someone who steals from the friend can impersonate me?

Proving your identity when you lost your proof of identity is still an unsolved problem if you ask me. At least in general, it seems that there is no one solution that works for everyone.

Put a PIN on it...

You can remove the PIN later. The hardware key can be set up to wipe the device after, say, 10 incorrect guesses.

If it can be wiped on incorrect pin usage, you can be maliciously locked out of accounts relatively easily.

Then you are going to know that the friend was messing with your hardware key. Better that than finding out they are willing to betray you by stealing from you.

Only if that key is the only factor.

N

wow you have time and money for a university... I have zero sympathies for people with such problems and such means to address them.

> and unless you're a top streamer the income is very low.

For rocket league, the content creation scene is much bigger than the pro scene. As a developer once said, is very GIFable. Combined with the flexibility of the game itself, you see nearly endless possibilities for content creation. More than half of the top content creators for this game are "casual" players[1]. Casual is quoted because they're still grand champion level but nowhere near the pro level. There are also pros turned content creators that are familiar with unreal engine and create really cool stuff (eg lethamyr). On the other end of the spectrum is sunless khan who creates video essays about rocket league[2]

Rocket League is very watchable by people unfamiliar with it too. It's just Pong in 3D. It's 3v3, and you can manipulate the paddle in very creative ways, but it's basically just as simple.

I was pretty much done with gaming until I found Rocket League. It's one-of-a-kind in so many ways, I'm not sure it'll ever be outdone. If it can't survive an industry crash, I don't think any eSport game will.
