The Robert Frost reference I played because I always feel like I can keep learning som much more, do so much more, as I think he tries to convey in his article. And I played it off the English translation of his Latin quote, 'Nil nove sul sole' ('Nothing new under the sun') to convey that too.
You're never stuck; it's in your head. I grew up poor in Brooklyn, and I have taken lower paying jobs after higher paying ones for the experience and fun of it. You learn to live within your means. You don't need a remote job to move to Indonesia. I live on very little here. I spend more on luxuries like books and credit for Internet. I am far from any big stores or town, so the temptation to just spend is gone too. I am sure you can manage to save $10K USD in a year. I am spending the time studying, exercising, sleeping (I have slept an average of 6 hours or less per night for the past 30 years or so, and now I try and get 8 to 9 hours, sometimes more!). The old cliche 'Life is short' rings more loudly as you get older, and peers start dying around you. In our youth we rally to 'Seize the day', but we don't own it. As Joseph Campbell said and wrote, 'Follow your bliss'. The rest will take care of itself just like the feet and hands wash themselves in the process of showering or bathing. Semoga berhasil!
Some platforms it's -r, others it's -d. I suspect it's down to which cron daemon you run but never really cared enough to investigate. In any case, both are next to the 'e' key so either are just as dangerous in terms of typos.
I compile my cv using latex. And once I had to make a few changes to my cv. So I used their service from my office. It worked pretty well for my use case.
I've used sharelatex when collaborating on a small paper. It's REALLY useful to live-edit a latex document in parallel with other people, and see changes live. The chat being able to embed latex is super useful.
Woah ... pressure points (Nardi) is the same in Tamil too ! South Indian martial art form covers the use of Nadi (pressure points/nerves) to disarm/disable opponents.
I think this would have reached Japan from mainland China. Also some research and folklore suggests that Bodhidarma was in fact a Pallava Prince who went to China and spread the marital art forms.
However hard evidence is quite scant esp. in India.
the issue with the travel from milton keynes to euston is that the peak hours virgin trains are completely packed and will struggle to find space in there.
I'm not bothered about the house prices but the incessant apartmentisation of every bit of land (e.g. Thames Path, east of Greenwich) and general shitness of the city (e.g. Greenwich, weekend) has brought me to the same decision.
Depending on job and other situations, I'm hoping to be out of London this time next year - probably somewhere like Milton Keynes.
Yeah but I can get a one bed flat there for less or the same as I'm paying for a studio now. Plus the environment is just a lot nicer (I was there last weekend walking down the canal and it was LOVELY.)
True... you get a lot for the price of a studio in London really.
lol. I was there too ! although it was rainy in MK when i reached there. I liked the place too. Its not rich in heritage so to speak. But for a decent middle class living with family and kids I think its a nice place.
Also not to mention you could commute to Birmingham should you get a good offer from there.
I enjoyed* the Saturday afternoon rain as I walked back from the centre to Caldecotte Lake. Took my shoes a day to dry out. Most damp. (But still a lot nicer than London canal walks.)
Same here. Been in London for 15 years, but rent's just going up and up and the idea of buying a place here is beyond laughable. Crappy little houses down the street here (Haringey) easily cost £300k+ (for a one bed flat, divided from what once was a single, real house). I suppose we could get a mortgage for that... but I can think of lots of better things to spend that much money on.
Sadly for me, my partner's Italian and working in an industry wedded to London (as does mine, to a degree), and for her the thought of moving to the suburbs or beyond is just not possible, so...
Yeah.
I don't particularly want to move to Italy either.
