Seattle has such a tax. It has done nothing to stop people from purchasing that foul stuff, however. They simply go to a neighbouring city and purchase it there - for less.

I personally find it acceptable, but generally I find that those at least questing for meaning or trying to find options are far far better & more interesting people in my book. Not required, but having something to offer this world is recommendable.
You might want to check again. I notice a lot of goat cheese options - most of which are $6 or less and eligible for purchase via SNAP/EBT.
The noodles are a bit on the high side from my perspective. One option is $10.50 for a 3oz serving (for one person). That's $3.50/ounce. Another option is $23.39 for 30 packs with each pack being 2.82 ounces. That's around 28 cents/ounce. This one seems like the better option but I'm not into noodles anyway - even if, like these, they're certified Halal.
I know a bunch of folks who'd be interested (including myself). Those bad boys just ran and ran with very little tweaking. Love 'em to death. If no one else wants it, let me know. I'd be happy to give it a new home. Near Seattle here.
