My dad, who passed away 2023, left a stack of over 100 VHS tapes full of 80s TV. It’s mostly music (esp. bass guitar orientated), steam trains, photography and I think this would make the perfect way to digest that content.

Thanks for sharing.

Please consider uploading the tapes to Internet Archive, YouTube, an open directory, etc.

I recommend VHS Revue for a comedic, Australian take on old VHS content

I’m starting a company in my hometown to help the local area with electronic waste. We offer commissioned sales, repair, refurbish, and any other straightforward computer-based tasks.

I’ve been leaning on my career as an infrastructure or DevOps or whatever engineer you wish to call it.

I’m creating our backend to automatically pay people their commission when an item sells. It also helps us navigate our (currently modest) warehouse to find items to be dispatched.

I also can’t tell you how long I’ve spent getting some old label printers working.

I’ve not felt so engaged in such a long time.

I’m working on a musical project and the website alone fucking rocks.

RFC 2142 [1] defines both those (among others), for different purposes. I tend to set all those for the used services (and one for XMPP, per XEP-0157 [2]) as aliases: usually it's not hard and costs nothing, but allows to adjust the aliases in the future (in case if somebody else will maintain some of the services), and provides standard ways for inquiries regarding those services.

Clean and simple.

I think you could be right. At least, we know but choose or are too lazy to do anything about it.

Recently I've found myself too stressed to even think about it. Too many stresses in life and I can do without the planet for now.

Totally selfish I know, but I'll get back to it when other things have died down.

I think what we need is something which helps us recognise the issues. Not only that but show us what we can do to help! We have to understand at a micro-level, how we can make an impact in aggregate.

It'z funny that I often compare the way things are to spots|zits. Something I do quietly to myself, in my own mind :-)

Too much/little X causes outbursts of Y.

The question is, has Earth got a few spots lurking behind the earlobes. Or is there a feature-length episode of Dr Pimple Popper taking place?

I recently built a site for publishing photographs I am takin weekly.

It’s all in Golang. Using Pulumi to deploy into AWS. CDN, API Gateway, Lambda, S3.

I’m planning to add DynamoDB for metadata and the recently released S3 feature which allows for on-the-fly transformations of objects.

It’s been a breeze. Absolutely loving it compared to all the static generators and JS-heavy alternatives I’ve built in the past.

I also find some pleasure in finding the resulting HTML being neat too.

I went there with my girlfriend about 5 years ago. We still laugh that it made us feel a bit unwell and had to leave.

Would still recommend.

I get that people dawdle but simply that 6% of people use their phones whilst walking isn’t a problem. It’s an observation.

What are they hoping to change and by how much?

I’ve never been to Yamato, but pedestrian congestion is a problem on some crowded sidewalks in the US. If 6% of users are blocking the sidewalk, it can create slow downs for 94% of everyone else who are trying to get somewhere.

Hey, I'm really interested in trying your app. However I am unable to sign in via iPhone SE. The small screen means I that cannot tap to sign in with email address - I prefer this over Apple/Google login.

Otherwise so it looks great, I look forward to giving it a go.

Sorry about that, didn't test enough on smaller screens. Will be definitely fixed on the next update. In the meantime you can try the web desktop version!

I've been making sourdough bread routinely once a week. The sixth loaf, this morning, is the best yet and I'm really happy with how my familiarity with the recipe is developing. It's almost on par with the local bakery!

I have finally, after some 5 years, setup my RaspberryPi to perform a useful function for me. To validate the claims by my ISP makes about our bandwidth. It's performing a speedtest periodically and updating a Google Sheet with the results. Over time I hope to track and back up their guarantee myself! In the process I am learning about Go, Docker and Google's API. I am also increasing my knowledge of Linux. The project continues with more automation and monitoring.

I've recorded on 2 separate occasions bass lines for different bands in a simple home studio which has been put together since lockdown. I'm collaborating more with a teenage friend whom I used to record and perform with a lot many years ago.

Also, briefly: I've built my family home in Minecraft and plan on extending to some memorable landmarks...

And I hope to get round to reversing the fridge doors before the end!

If you really want to over-engineer things while learning about docker, you can run Grafana in a container and graph the results.

What is the algorithm for the speed test? How do you make the test? I’m soon getting fiber and I am interested in this thing
