Please specify Elasticsearch & JDK version. Also, index size and heap size per node.

From my experience, high heap sizes are unnecessary since Lucene (used by ES) has greatly reduced heap usage by moving things off-heap[1].

This video on scaling Facebook Live (realtime video streaming) may help -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO4teCbHvZw

Thanks .. saw this video. The video gives a good understanding but again has alot of high level information. Are there sources which provide low level info as well?

Please note - Most Linux laptops are being throttled due to low cTDP bug. It impacts almost all new laptops, including Lenovo.

You can read more about this -> https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Other-Linux-Discussions/X1C6-T4...

If you are planning to buy Lenovo, go for higher end (T/P series models) as Lenovo will provide Bios updates to resolve this issue.

If anyone is looking to contribute to Apache Kafka, they, can get started with setup that I have documented in my blog.

If possible, take sometime off and practice DS/Alog problems on leetcode. I don't know your location, but, there are plenty of data engineering jobs available (in general). But you need to practice DS/Algo for clearing most interviews.

Came here to say same thing. Saga pattern is the way to go.

Also, suggest you to carefully think about transaction boundaries, if possible, prefer eventual consistency over transactions.

Just a note of caution - My personal experience with TW is not good. I never heard back from their HR (Bangalore) after sending resume, despite multiple reminders (I am fine to get back a rejection).

My friend (ex-microsoft) had similar experience with them - HR went radio silent mid-way through his interview process (again TW Bangalore office).

Can you please share the names of people you mentioned to the email address above? I would be glad to have a look. Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Will you consider dev from India (Bangalore) for US specific openings ? And also provide visa/relocation support?

If yes, how can I find out more details about this opening?

I have used awk to color application logs (info=green, error=red, warn=yellow) on linux console.
