Local first is amazing. I have been building a local first application for Invoicing since 2020 called Upcount https://www.upcount.app/.

First I used PouchDB which is also awesome https://pouchdb.com/ but now switched to SQLite and Turso https://turso.tech/ which seems to fit my needs much better.

VATcomply.com has been using SQLite as a primary database for 2 years and is serving ~70 requests per second without an issue.

I built and sold couple of open source API's I built and am now working on a new one that combines them together to make a complete API product for VAT compliance.

The idea is that you can geocode, show exchange rates and validate VAT numbers all from the same API.

For complex state flows we use Kea JS. https://kea.js.org/

The library has been around for a while and reduces a lot of boilerplate.

Is also used by some quite big names.

Hoping to start something free today that can add paid features in the future: https://www.upcount.app/

Just a heads up, there appears to be a typo on the front page. I think "Invocing" should be "Invoicing."

Thank you very much for the heads up. I have updated the title to fix the spelling mistake.

Thank you!

Working on a offline-first Invoicing app for freelancers & small businesses. Built to be cross-platform with Electron & react.
