I read this to get up to speed when I needed to take my school's Operating Systems course before the Assembly prerequisite, and it got me through ok with a little help from my lab partners.
This discussion reminds me of "Analogical modeling" that was taught to us in a course titled "Mechatronics". They taught us how to model physical systems / phenomenon using electrical circuits.
This was especially useful in analyzing systems that had a mix of mechanical components (springs, tanks, pistons, levers) and electronics (resistor, capacitor, amplifiers). You would draw a big circuit diagram that non only included actual electrical components but also electrical analogues of the mechanical components. This way you will end up with just an electrical circuit and use only the laws related to electric networks (Kirchoff, Thevenin) to analyze the behavior of the system.
Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) - Using logic to unravel how your beliefs interact with your circumstances to create negative emotions and then letting go of dysfunctional beliefs to attenuate those negative emotions. Started by applying to myself and then helping teach them to others
Still in business apparently. They seem to sell themselves as NYC's only stamp store. Based on the yelp reviews...it appears their biggest customers are women looking to buy vintage stamps for wedding invitations lol
