Great, let psychedelics be reclassified next

What we need is less drugs, and more fixing the issues on what causes people to turn to drugs.

Affordable healthcare being chief among these. If people could go to the doctor without fear of bankruptcy, they might stop trying to self medicate with potentially addictive substances.

I was listening to a podcast the other day and one of the hosts had lost his job. He was thrilled to "only" have to pay $1000/mo for insurance on the Marketplace for his family of 6. And he confirmed it wasn't even a "Cadillac" plan!

If my back hurts, I'm probably going to reach for weed over a visit to the doctor because $10/day is a potentially more affordable than needing to shell out $8k for back surgery or physical therapy treatments for years. Maybe I get lucky and the pain goes away, or I can focus on finding a new job with better health benefits and still come out ahead financially.

Humans have been using drugs as long as we've been human. From caffeine to advanced hallucinogens.

I agree with the sentiment but it seems far more reasonable to stop criminalizing something so human as a step towards the goal, rather than put the goal before the metaphorical horse.

actually, psychedelics help people get in touch with their core issues like childhood traumas which cause people to turn to drugs, games, overeating, etc, and help alleviate PTSD, OCD, etc. psychedelics are anti-addiction.

so we definitely need psychedelics rescheduled.

Oregon agrees.

Lightning Network design is horrible, and it's literally impossible to onboard millions of users without increasing the L1 blocksize to an absurd amount.

The world will likely move onto using rollups on other chains like Ethereum instead, which scale better, and pays gas to validators to get included into the blocks.

Seems like the Bitcoin community is looking into rollups on Bitcoin, but it'll be impossible to get trustless Bitcoin on them, even with BitVM, without a hardfork.

Eventually, statelessness will help increase gas limit on L1.

However, Ethereum L1 is supposed to be the settlement layer for rollups, and high security requirement transactions, not for shitcoin trading.

Recursive rollups (L3s,L4s) have also been talked about for years now, and it should be pursued; that's how you can increase transaction throughput and decrease fees with the magic of zk.

> What even is the elevator pitch use case of all this?

> It's a full-stack replacement for large parts of "centralized tech"

Anti-censorship, permissionless data that lasts longer than centralized companies..?

As far as I know, Optimism has fraud proofs on Sepolia testnet right now

That's odd, Blackrock just created the BUIDL tokenized fund on Ethereum. Seems like there's definitely a use for it.

It'll come down even more as blobs are increased, and PeerDAS is implemented

I wonder how spiritual experiences resulting from psychedelics fit into this.

I have a long history of childhood traumas, but ever since using Ayahuasca and other psychedelics, I've gained a much more positive outlook in life, and have improved my life significantly since.

I tried that but unfortunately it made me way more negative and suicidal

Sorry to hear that.. I'm not sure how your set, setting and dosage was, but it also seems like most psychedelics aren't good for people with schizophrenia, bipolar and suicidal tendencies. It's definitely not for everyone.

Unfortunately the risk/reward is quite extreme. For reference:

Dosage: 100ug LSD on two close together ocassions

Set: No depression at that time, just some early childhood trauma as you mentioned

Setting: Both times in loving family environment in very safe environment

I don't have schizophrenia and bipolar, and I didn't have suicidal tendencies until I took LSD. Afterwards I did for about 4 or 5 years.

Ethereum has a perpetual buy back mechanism via burning and staking currently gives about 2.7% a year without MEV

Someday people will catch on the Ethereum actually has a PE ratio.

Naw, because LN non-custodial UX sucks, and custodial wallets are being disabled in the US.
