Most Tesla headlights have matrix functionality (the ability selectively dim areas of the headlight that would be aimed at another car) but this is not enabled in the US.

Adaptive lighting isn't the best solution either.

Here in the Netherlands there are lots of complaints from people on bicycles who get blinded by "adaptive" lights that don't adapt, or don't do so quickly enough, probably because they dont recognise the "profile" or shape of a bicycle.

The problem is even worse when coming over a hill.

What's better?

this sounds like the CGP Grey video about solving traffic whose solution* would completely eliminate pedestrian crossings.

My rule of thumb is that f a solution is extremely comfortable for drivers then it is likely damaging to everybody else.

* basically turning all cars in a coordinating mesh network

... or we could take the cheaper, less failure prone, simpler option of not using ridiculously bright, blue headlights.

And miss a chance to blame the government for something? Perish the thought...

But they stupidly didn't follow the SAE's recommendations and made it harder to implement in the US by deviating from the standard used in the ROW.

KeepassXC works great for this.

Transunion (credit reporting agency) does this, but after the 15th character.

Tasks app from F-droid for to-dos, and Nextcloud Notes for the notes

Play store also tries to, very annoyingly, update apps that weren't installed from play store

I'm a long time F-Droid user and have never seen this. Under what circumstances?

Installed Nextcloud from F-droid, Play store tries to update it. Nextcloud is also available on play store, and newer versions are available on play store before F-droid.

This is probably when installing an APK of an app that is available on the play store, being the same app id play store will pick it up.

The main use case for doing this is probably revanced, especially for patches like reddit that don't change the app id.

At least there is an option to disable it.

Edit: actually it appears to be "opt-in"

I used to love Dark Sky on android. Finally settled on a using a combination of Breezy Weather and Flowx

>Ultimately people stay where they want to stay, for a variety of reasons.

With the majority of homeless, the reason would be easier access to illicit substances.

Only 26% of homeless people abuse drugs, find a new stereotype.

26% is a massive number and more than sufficient for the stereotype to fit. If 26% of x demographic had murdered somebody, a stereotype that x are murderers would be well deserved.

Comparatively, the background population uses drugs at approximately 13%: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/drug-use-illicit.htm (ignoring alcohol, which is huge: ~53%). Most drug users aren't homeless.
