My product, https://autenti.ca/smile is a tool to boost your mood that uses facial recognition to detect whether you are smiling or not.

TipVFL I made a mistake yesterday and introduced a bug that showed an error screen by default... That's why you might have seen that message. I also open the site from Android Chrome.

Regarding the beard, I haven't done many tests (a don't have bear on my own) but the service I use behind scenes is Amazon Rekognition (https://aws.amazon.com/rekognition/image-features/) so there's not much I can do in order to improve the service

Oh rhimanathwani, thank you very much for your comment. It's such a great idea that one of having the computer unlock only after you smile for at least 10 secs! It's genius.

This website was a quick test but i can see that it has many other applications. I will keep in mind your suggestion.

Thanks interesting. In my naive way of thinking about this I think people will just open the webpage, allow access to the camera and smile for at least 4 seconds.

I just did a test with a person that was around and she also was reluctant about smiling in front of the camera.

Do you have any recommendations to overcome this?

I get (and, in fact, like it quick much) the idea behind your project, but people are really afraid about their privacy - especially these days. First thing would be adding some information, e.g. that the recording won't be stored anywhere and that it will not be shared. This definitely won't make all of the people trust you, but some will surely feel more comfortable seeing this kind of statement.

I totally understand I didn't foresee it. I added a 'About privacy' section based on your recommendations where I say that not picture is saved or shared, and that the camera is not used without your permission.

Do you see yourself using it Cypher?

I never thought of taking donations. Thank you very much for the suggestion!

Why not bizarre?

Thank you very much for the guidance. I should have read the faqs before posting this thread

This is an amazing story. The comments from your friend seem to me very reasonable. Right now I'm volunteering at a surf shop in Portugal that covers a place to sleep and breakfast. Do i have had time to work on my ideas but I'm not generating any income. I'll keep in mind your friend's experience when tried to work as a contractor for a startup.

Thanks for sharing this story

Those are interesting cases. Definitively the will power works as a muscle and has limited resources. Thanks for your comment
