Big time developers have always said that OS X is a better Unix development environment than Linux. Dell is smart to come out with a power Linux development station. My friends have been replacing their unix workstations with Macintoshes. Mac OS X is basically plain Unix -BSD flavor. Now Dell is going there. Smart by Dell

I have Little Snitch installed and locked down so it can't make any connections, but it tries two different sites over SSL in an attempt to fetch content for the frame.

LobbyCon is the best action for data ...it's all about the hallways. I will say that lots of folks know each other online so meeting face 2 face is a fun time to bond and party rather than info gathering which conferences are not good for anyway (due to the real time web)
Investors get a free look at the execution savvy of the founders and their idea in the new seed marketplace ...so it's more efficient for the VCs thx to the ycombo and other incubators...people can slam all they want on incubators but its a nice working model...gets more ideas exposed and funded...
