Hey, look, it's my alma mater. Back in the news for wonky gravity physics research. Gotta love it.

I know UAH for its production of the Global Temperature Report, which produces primary data clearly showing climate change, and run by a bunch of climate change deniers.

(Generally, not Stage 1 denialists, but various later stages of "it's not so bad" or "it's not our fault". At least one is also a creationist.)

Ha, mine too! 2014

At least it wasn't University of Mississippi!

They actually have some really good faculty in gravitational wave stuff and general relativity.

Thanks for sharing. I love how detailed that writeup is. And you used the tools that I wasn't smart enough to employ for mine.

The laptop was purchased with upgraded RAM, so there wasn't any OEM sticks to swap in. That is a good idea if possible though.

I agree. The situation was me trying to use materials on-hand, but it makes the writeup less useful.

I feel like a lot of companies went that way. I have one of those HP calculators, and it was fantastic.

I should have included the year, apologies.

Thank you!

I unironically have been making a text file of photo management tools I wanted to go through and try before picking one to settle on. Thank you for this comparison chart!

Edit, the text file contents so far:

• Damselfly • Immich • Lychee • Media Goblin • Photo-Stream • Photoprism • Photoshow • Photostructure • Photoview • PiGallery2 • Piwigo • Pixapop • Photobox

Thanks, this something I'm also after. Want to self host a system like that, have the hardware but I'm yet to go through all options.

I've been using Arch for over a decade at this point. It's broken on me a handful of times and needed a live USB to recover, but overall has been incredibly robust.

My advice is to try everything out and then use what you like. Ubuntu is great and stable.
