If "dupe" usually means a duplicate discussion, then marking something as a dupe where there isn’t even a discussion yet, and according to you it has no value/substance, so there won’t be any, is nonsense.

With this approach, we could actually mark all posts that comment on or describe the same topic, for example, what an immutable variable in Rust is, as DUPE.
I also use something like printf() from the beginning, just with a shorter name, and its printing is conditional, so I usually don't remove it from the code. :)
