corrected.

There's no details at all with regards to what the project is, how can one decide to join you if they have no idea what you're doing?

Web/desktop/mobile? Game? App? We've no idea. You should share something about it, otherwise I don't expect you'll see many responses.

Hey guys.

I was just wondering why this thread got deleted.

I was trying to make an useful service for the community, where we could try to exchange opinions and give feedback... like we did on designerchat.co.

I was thinking infact IRC was too 20th century, old and outdated... and way too messy. Slack is pretty awesome compared to it, with many more functions and native apps :)

That being said, be nice... or else :)

The previous thread was flagged to death by users. That basically never happens for that kind of post. For some reason, the community squarely rejected it.

Also, this repost has set off the voting ring detector with a vengeance. Please don't organize voting rings.

I wonder why they'd flag it. The email thing is required by slack and it really is a pretty great little community. I already have a side project to hack on this weekend thanks to this. Please consider letting it stay up if this thread continues to resemble a good one :)

If it was deleted, resubmitting it is not a valid action.

It was most likely deleted (IMO) because you ask for an email upfront for an invite without showing the service.

366 people are now in the team, and they could comment this post telling it's awesome chatting people with common interests :)

No way around that...

That is required since it runs through slack, though.

After the success of www.designerchat.co, I decided to do a similar thing for the hackers.

Cheers.

Why does it need an email address given up front?

My guess is to be invited into the slack chatroom. I remember slack needing that to invite.

You must mean it was deemed successful for its graphic design because the UX is horrible. So far the only thing I've succeeded in proving is that MailChimp works flawlessly ... I already knew that.
