Big day! We finally launched Bubble, the first platform for social video commenting! With Bubble, you can create, share, and react with short video comments on top of any video, image, or web content.
The 'social' dimensions of social media have always lived in the comment sections below our posts - often richer, funnier, and more personal than the posts themselves. We felt it was time to innovate commenting by bringing the intuitive and authentic nature of mobile video to those conversations. Instead of browsing through anonymous posts, you can now hear and see others while they discuss opinions, raise questions, or just laugh along with you.

Hi HN! We are finally releasing our first version of Bubble, a social platform for video comments and reactions. People can add video comments on all kinds of content (photos, videos, social media etc.) and others can directly add their video replies.
We will kick this off with a bubble called 'Founders Talk' where people can exchange business ideas, get feedback, or comment on the latest startup news! Feel free to check it out!

We started with a very basic observation: Social media provides us with endless opportunities for sharing anything online or watching snippets of other people’s lives. However, most of it has evolved around self-promotion and the goal of getting more likes instead of real interaction: While some became ‘influencers’ - most stayed ‘followers’. The result is a huge imbalance between engaging content by a few and an endless feed of comments and messages by the rest of us.
As an alternative, we are currently building Bubble and I would love to get your feedback: Bubble is a social video platform that allows users to create, share and react to video comments on top of any content. You can use Bubble to comment on a photo, a screenshot or a video and request a short video comment from your friends. You can create your own private bubbles or join public discussions around topics that you find interesting.
We built Bubble to be a space for authentic and engaging interaction between real people around real content. We believe that the most intimate connections emerge through people’s faces and Bubble allows everyone to merge with the content they are sharing.
