I have also come to this conclusion. Consciousness might be an evolutionary dead end.

Cows are quite intelligent.

At this point I would refuse to travel to the USA at all, not only for vacation, but also for work. Imagine being locked up for weeks or months because you need to visit the us-based office.

> Imagine being locked up for weeks

Or being shipped to some concentration camp in El Salvador, in hopes it is not upgraded to death camp.

> It sounds like you write code as black box then run it in REPL to see what it does because you don't understand it by yourself.

That doesn't even make any remote sense. "I don't get the fixation with the JVM. It sounds like you write code as a black box, then compile and run it to see what it does because you don't understand it by yourself."

So they used the model as a database? It should be immediately obvious to anyone that this won't work.

> instead of opening my mouth to parrot the "Orange Man Evil" party line to farm upvotes.

Or, you know, Europeans and Canadians might actually see the Orange Man for what he is, and express their opinions.

What does the article have to do with Trump? He won't be president forever.

Are you asking what the current political trends in the EU, which the article is about, have to do with Trump, the president of the USA?

First sentence:

>The EU is considering ... to retaliate against Donald Trump...

Did you by chance read the article yourself?

Germany as well.

While that might be the case, a 'landlord' can't just enter a house or apartment.

Same with geopolitics now, since the USA have basically sided with Russia against Ukraine. I want to have a solid background to be able to interpret current events and tendencies.

You’ve been siding with Russia since 1776?

(We had a kind of falling out when Capitalism felt threatened.)

> You’ve been siding with Russia since 1776?

Huh? In most senses of "siding with," I don't think that this statement has really been true for this broad a sweep of US history.

To say I misread your original comment would be an understatement, my apologies.

I am not freilanzer, who made the comment https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43410830 to which you responded, so, if you do think an apology is warranted, then it should probably be to them.

Is it statically typed, like Ocaml?

No, it is dynamically typed. The annotations work like run time contracts.
