yeah really - ramp.com is a credit card/expense platform that surely loses money right now...

pretty heavy/slow javascript but pretty functional nonetheless...

This is brilliant SEO work, I doubt that they loose money with it. With 40h and some additional for the landingpage it might be an expensive link bait, but definitely worth it. Kudos!

If not for SEO, it’s building quite a good reputation for this company, they got a lot of open positions.

I’m a big fan of transport tycoon, used to play it for hours as a kid and with Open Transport Tycoon it also might have been a good choice, but maybe not B2C?

-omg, I always disable windows update -more harm than good unless you're in some more sensitive position

or just buy a cd key from a wholesaler for $20 :)

probably won't be disconnected... been using such a cd key for months w/o issue and my win11 experience isn't that painful

If you're gonna pay 20 bucks to someone who isn't even allowed to sell you a key, why not just activate it with massgrave?

Indeed, but for all the cases where I’d want to use IoT Windows, such as small scale NVRs, I have opted for Debian/Ubuntu/RHEL.

web is, frighteningly, much faster and more responsive than local desktop apps are now (e.g., gmail is infinitely more responsive than desktop modern outlook generally speaking - even web spreadsheets are superior to modern Excel (though not, say, Excel 2003...))

I suppose I'd just save the pdf to tiff/png then remake back into a pdf from there to avoid printing and scanning?

if really paranoid, I suppose one could run a filter on the image files to make them a bit fuzzy/noisy

I think "Print to PDF" would be easiest

I'd worry print to pdf might be ineffective. I think rasterizing is the way to go.

yeah, 90% of meetings are wastes in most companies

well, to the credit of Bayes, dementia is likely a safe choice (depending on age/etc.) but dementia is largely a diagnosis of exclusion and most doctors, besides being unfamiliar with Bayes, are also just plain lazy and/or dumb and shouldn't immediately jump to the most likely explanation when it's one with the worst prognosis and fewest treatments...

having windows update running is already a compromise in some respects

I haven't run windows update in like 20 years

are we any better than banana republics at this point though?

can't he just replace the keyboard? I'd imagine that won't be too hard?

Did you miss the following parts?

Given my past experiences with X1 Carbon laptops breaking outside of warranty and the frustration that comes with replacing their components, I decided it was time to look for a replacement.
    [...]
There are also some other issues with the X1 line in general, such as poor CPU cooling and the absolute nightmare that is opening them up to replace parts or clean them properly.
Maintaining an X1 is certainly possible, but it's incredibly frustrating and based on my past experiences with this series I strongly suspect other components will also fail in the near future.
