A while - they’ve had the construction on 28L for a few months; now it’s actually construction on Taxiway B, which requires the use of 28L as a taxiway.

Edit: just checked the NOTAMs and it’s been this way since January 18th, and expires on May 28th. Plenty of time for airlines to get their act together.

Where is the line between this and something along the lines of libgen? I’ve been using distributed libraries for years and haven’t paid for a textbook once…

x2, opensheet is one of those tools I use so often I forget how useful it is. It’s so nice to be able to take form responses (or just generic svg data) and display it to a user base without having to setup a SQLite database and APIs.

I have a Kindle Oasis right now that I want to get more use out of, but also can't stand using Amazon products (and have found the Oasis increasingly frustrating as of late, especially as I download more content from non-Amazon sources for my classes). Can any Kobo owners speak to how much of an improvement it is over the Oasis (or any other more recent Kindle)? Should I pre-order the Color or just get one of their existing models?

One of the first Launch HN products I've been excited about in a long time. I'm a student, and really looking forward to using this to write papers, assignments, emails, etc.

Congrats!

Thanks Eliot! Let us know how we can make it better for you!

I got an email from BMO the other day that I had changed my password. I immediately tried to log in (with my current password) and it worked fine. Never got any other communication from them about it, or even a fraud alert after I supposedly "changed" the password.

I moved to Schwab a while ago, so I'm not sure what I would've done to change the password. Schwab is much better, by the way. BMO is a joke. I never thought I would say this, but I miss Bank of the West.

Rerun is one of those projects where I want to find an excuse to use it more. So well-thought-out, well engineered, etc. Props to the engineers.

I’ve used https://www.when2meet.com for an hourly version of this for years, and never had any issues with it.

Derek from Veritasium has a decent video on this topic that seems to be less corporate: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aFPJf-wKTd0

Reminder that there’s a free shuttle to Caltrain and a BART connection at SFO. De-incentivising ride share use and encouraging public transit seems like a good thing.

BART passengers are paying more or less the same amount to BART in a surcharge that (at least in theory) is supposed to pay for the construction.

It’s even worse as BART charges per rider while ride share surcharges are per vehicle. It’s often not even cost competitive to take transit if you’re a couple or family.

I remember the first time I took the BART with luggage. After a few stops, the announcer said effectively "Tunnel is broken, no more BART service" and dumped everyone out.

I have a very high tolerance for this kind of shit, but I have a hard time trusting the BART again.
