It’s unknown.

It can equally be possible, impossible or not worth it.

Interstellar rocks crashing at you with velocity of 0.1c might hurt a lot.

I would not like my government spending 99% of everybodies income for 100 generations, just to send one human to proxima centauri.

Growth and efficiency gains are not guaranteed, and will eventually stop. (If you take the mass of universe, put it into mc^2, and assume 5% energy consumption increase per year you get 2k years to consume whole universe worth of energy)

We can’t just assume that humans will reach Proxima Centauri.

To solve the issue we must answer several questions: What’s the alternative? How much it would cost for whole class and members of classmate families?

Yup. Java 1.8 is humongous leap to the right direction.

I’m stll waiting for the revival of the cousin, underhanded c contest.

Why court system is relevant for the currency?

I assume British courts can enforce contracts that deal in dollars.

The court system is relevant for confidence in investing in an economy, and currencies are largely supported by and dependent on investment into the economy of the country. Even government debt instruments are a form of investment in the economy of the country.

Eg. Some brand used in a movie.

Usually brands pay for that screen time, but it’s not very obvious that it’s payed advertising.

Huh? I don't think there is a person on earth that does not know the BMW James Bond drives, is not sponsored. Is this really the expectation? I don't believe it.

Real men would dig Route 66 canal instead of Panama.

No idea. Read only is good enough.

Reasons why:

Corporation does not care about life per se, it looks at impact on profit.

Corporation has option to sue offender into oblivion (by thoroughly writing contracts)

Parent is perfectly right.

> cultural shift toward being selfish
