Season 2 is good to great, not mediocre. It’s just that S3 and S4 are even better. Season 1 you can skip most of the fillers if you’re in a hurry. There’s a plenty of curated S1 episode lists on the internet that tell you which episodes you don’t want to miss. It’s much better this way than the usual "first season excellent, second season okay, the rest are crud and only exist to make money".
There are several stand-out episodes in season 1 and 2, as well as several stand-out scenes; plus the second half of season 2 is not mediocre. You also miss out on character and world-building that happens in those episodes that help contextualize a lot of the later seasons.
Plus, many reactors now have liked season 1 a lot better than when it initially aired.
Unfortunately, there's some very important episodes that set up major plot arcs that you don't get to appreciate until later on, so maybe it's worth just watching the best episodes of season 1 if you're impatient. Season 2 is better than mediocre.
> Alas, when I want to actually leave feedback on the PR, I have to open the browser, navigate to the relevant line in the diff, and (after waiting for several HTTP round-trips) type my suggestion into a text area
This doesn't seem like much of a problem, does it? It's a matter of alt-tab and a click or two.
Also, what is the point of having reviews in the git history?
Serious question, why would I use this? I searched for a topic I'm interested in, in English, and got barely related results in various languages (Swedish, Spanish).
On YouTube, the first result for the same search is an amazing playlist, in English, on the exact topic I searched for.
Seriously I live in Warsaw and there was no winter this year. Just a 6-month long October. Very depressing but good for low energy consumption I suppose.
I don't know why, but as with so many other things Jazz-y, but the sax feels like "more cowbells" to me.
That is, I overall enjoyed the tunes, but I think it would have been a much more interesting had there been greater variation beyond a "simple" sax as the main instrument.
However, I fully accept that it's just not for me. I enjoy music from a lot of different genres, from medieval music to goa trance to stoner and doom metal, but somehow Jazz has never clicked for me.
I also struggle a lot with jazz. It's very rare for me to find a record that I truly enjoy. Lately I tend to listen mostly to "elevator jazz" playlists on Spotify, which is kinda easy to listen to and helps me focus. "actual" jazz requires more concentration and it's just generally not something I'm in the mood for most of the time, that's for sure.
Having to suffer through two mediocre seasons is a dealbreaker in 2026 to be honest.
