I built this to solve a specific use case where in-person signing is required but internet access is restricted or unavailable. This also addresses problems with signers who can't or don't want to confirm their email address -- the audit trail info includes the MAC address and name of the signer's cell phone (among other things). I'm just starting out here so any feedback on any aspect of this project is totally appreciated.
Memaroo is a web research dashboard, designed to make iterative web searching organized and more efficient. Memaroo records your search history into different projects, which can be accessed from anywhere -- so you can search for things on your phone and then continue your research later on your desktop. Projects can also be shared with other users, allowing collaborative searching and result sharing.
Memaroo is an improvement to an established search paradigm. But people are comfortable in that paradigm, despite its flaws.
How can I get potential users to break their existing search habits and try something new and possibly better?
When I originally posted this, the demo workspace was loaded into the current tab, so if you wanted to do more searches it would just add them to the demo workspace. Hitting back would then return you to searches from the demo. Now the demo launches in a new tab.
I designed meml.io to make web research simple and more organized. The basic idea is that meml.io tracks your search efforts over time, and stores separate sequences of queries in "streams." This is especially useful when searching iteratively or refining web queries. Streams can also be shared across users, allowing collaborative research.
Right now this is just a side project, but if anyone out there sees potential for something more, email me.
